We have been studying the book of Acts in the adult Sunday School class, and last week we read chapter 13. Here Paul and Barnabas present the gospel to the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia - you can read Paul's sermon in verses 16-41. Rolan made the comment that this gospel Paul preached at Antioch is the same gospel Peter preached on Pentecost (ch. 2) and to the household of Cornelius (ch. 10), and that Steven preached at his martyrdom (ch. 6). These men preached a straightforward message of good news - forgiveness of sins had come through Jesus Christ!

Five of us returned last night from a tiring but enjoyable day helping the men of the Farrenburg church put a new metal roof over the existing shingle roof. We got the roof on just as we began to run out of gas. I'm guessing that a few of us took naps today. There were ample opportunities to visit with the men from Farrenburg while working, waiting out two rainstorms, and enjoying a delicious fish dinner that they cooked.
